在Firefox 1.0版以前，根據http://preferential.mozdev.org/preferences.html
中的說明，可以把開啟的New tab直接設定為開啟首頁，方法如下：
進入about:config然後更改browser.tabs.loadOnNewTab的數值
* -1 ：瀏覽器啟使頁面
* 0 ：空白頁面
* 1 ：您的首頁
* 2 ：最後瀏覽頁面
但是在Firefox 1.0版以後這個功能就被取消了！
於昨天寫信去請問專家得到答覆如下： 在Firefox 1.0中為了檔案大小與啟動速度，所以把這個開啟新分頁預設為首頁的功能取消了！ 如果真的需要這個功能，可以考慮安裝Mozilla Suite!

Sorry to disappoint, but it appears that the preference browser.tabs.loadOnNewTab is inoperational in Firefox 1.0.
While Firefox is an excellent product, it does sacrifice some flexibility to get a smaller size and increased speed. I will make a note that the preference is inoperational in Firefox for my next update.
If this is a feature that you particularly want, you will need to install the Mozilla Suite (I have tested this as working as of version 1.7.3, but I presume is will also work on other versions).
